December 12th and I will be sitting in my favorite place! In the local Book store which is full of charm and a wonderful addition to the town. The night of Living windows is a magical one with the store fronts all lit up for Christmas. This year I celebrate three books and a lifelong dream!

Elena Browning had been taking small bites out of the Big Apple and her life. She was content reading with her book club until one came along. The girls in the book club stumbled across a new book to read, while searching the internet. The author Jacqueline Brockert had just published her first book that contained a strong message. Karma Corn, with its engaging story line into the power of fate and the chance to change your life. Elena's life awakens after her soul seeks the eyes of a stranger while buying cupcakes. From the streets of New York City to the shores of Cape Cod, a romance unfolds. From the waters of the Mississippi churns a tale of a woman born in a river town. By chance, she is soon to be entwined in a group of people being led by destiny. The second book of the Karma Corn series lures you back to a bridge that spans a great river. Two cars driving slowly towards a beginning neither of them is aware of. This instant in time will change hearts and lives. Karma Corn started with a small seed of ultimate coincidences. Now the journey speeds ahead with a colorful new character that unwittingly was there from the very beginning. As you turn the pages of the book your heart will warm as you meet Ophelia. From the colorful town of Hannibal, Missouri to places unknown, you begin both the perils and the adventure.

Dozens of storefronts on Jefferson Street will come to life during the 15th annual Living Windows celebration on Thursday, December 12 from 6 to 8 PM. Enjoy carolers, puppet shows, ice sculpting, decorations, crafts, storytellers, treats, free horse-drawn  trolley rides and much more. Stop by Santa’s Cottage in Nancy Neafie Park, too! Don’t miss this special celebration of the season sponsored by the Hawk Eye, with thanks to TD&T Financial and Alliant Energy.
Merry Christmas to all and cannot wait to see you there!
